15 Weeks

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

Movement: I felt the baby for the first time today… It was so weird
Food cravings: Salads… Veggies and fruit are my best friend
Gender: The doctor thinks boy so I am now thinking that

What I am looking forward to: August 25th, we have our ultrasound
Milestones: Feeling the baby move and scheduling our ultrasound… we also bought our first baby clothes!

Today, Scott & I went to our 15 week check up. We got to hear the heartbeat again and the doctor said that we have a very cooperative baby. Yeah, give it time... Once we deliver, he or she probably won't be too cooperative. The doctor asked if we were going to find out what we were having and we said YES! She wanted to guess and she thinks its a boy. HAHA... That's all my family has is boys. Either way, Scott & I just want he or she to be healthy. It would be nice to just be able to call it by a name. The doctor said everthing looks great and that I am very healthy and to not change my eating habits. Scott had been concerned that I hadn't been eating enough, but I have gained 3 lbs so I am doing something right. We can't wait for our next appt August 25th. My mom and Tom, Dad and Jean & Bruce and Rhonda will all be in town so we can tell them in person. Things are going so well, I just hope they continue to go this way.
We went shopping for the first time for baby clothes last night. We got all green and yellow. I'll be posting some pictures later.

Bedding

I have began the search for the perfect bedding and furniture. I am picking a couple out for a girl and for a boy and a few that are neutral. Everything I am finding are online and not available in a store so I'm kind of disappointed that I wouldn't be able to see it before I buy it. Here are some of my ideas....
GIRL:

This is called Isabella: I absolutely love this but I would have dark furniture. I originally wanted all white furniture, but the more I think about it, I can just see a 3 year old with a crayon write all over it. We are wanting to buy a convertible bed. It turns from crib to toddler bed to full size bed.

2nd Trimester!!

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

Well, we finally made it... I am officially in my 2nd trimester now. From what I have heard and read, this is the most exciting. I am so happy that the nausea has finally gone away. I am still pretty tired and I am noticing that my back is starting to ache more. I have my appetite back thankfully. I can start eating Italian foods again. I bought my first maternity shirt this weekend with my mother. It will be perfect for fall. I think I am so lucky for having a winter baby. My mom said it was so hot the summer she was pregnant with me. I feel so sorry for her now. I feel like I get pregnancy hot flashes at times. I have already started picking out the furniture and paint colors for the nursery. The room we are using for the nursery is now a lovely shade of Pepto Bismol. It's gotta go! If we do have a baby Bella, I don't want everything PINK. I want something that will coordinate with the rest of our house. I will keep everyone posted on what I find.

How far along: 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 3 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Bought my first shirt but have not worn it.
Stretch marks: None… I love Tummy Butter
Sleep: Sleeping very well
Best moment last week: laying out… Belly and all
Movement: None that I know of
Food cravings: Sugar and Spice donuts…
Gender: I still think girl
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out: in
What I miss: Girls Nights
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the sex in 7 weeks!
Milestones: I am in my 2nd trimester… Finally.

Other news.... We have finally started painting our family room, foyer and stair case. It's all open so we had to pick a color that would work for it all. I found the perfect color... Butternut Wood by Behr. I absolutely love it. I couldn't even wait 2 hours to start painting. I finished the foyer part and I will probably start the stair case tonight. Our family room is 2 stories so I will have to have some help with that. I don't like heights so much.

In puppy news.... Daisy and Lexie are really enjoying this warm weather. They both like to lay out on the deck and get some rays. They are so sweet. Lexie has become very protective over me lately. I think she knows about her brother or sister.

11 Weeks

Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.

Maternity clothes: None
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: Best sleep of my life
Best moment last week: Hearing the heartbeat
Movement: None

Gender: I think GIRL. We heard that men that are active in the gym and in sports have a 97% chance of having girls.
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out: Definitely in
What I miss: My bikini... I don't feel comfortable in one anymore
What I am looking forward to: Our 15 week appt.

Our 10 Week Appt.

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

Scott & I had our 10 week appointment on June 23. We finally got to hear the heartbeat and it was strong as could be. 180 BPM to be exact. It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. To know that there is really a baby is there is undescribable. Scott's face lit up and he smiled. My mom also went with us and that was so special to me. I am her only daughter & I want her to be part of my experience in every way. We go back in 5 weeks to hear the heartbeat again. Then 4 weeks after that to find out the gender and have our first ultrasound. Scott & I are considering buying a fetal heart monitor for home. This way I can check the heartbeat after working out and to ease my mind in between appointments. We have already picked out a boys name. We really like Logan Scott Huelsman. For a girl, we have been having some trouble. I really wanted Kayleigh Rose or Avery Rose but those got shot down. We are now leaning towards Isabella Rose Huelsman and calling her Bella.... French for beautiful. I think it's gorgeous and Scott picked it out. We will definitley have Scott as the boys last name. First because it's Scott's middle name and b/c this is a family name on my mom's side. My maternal grandmothers maiden name is Scott and my brother and my nephew's middle name. We chose Rose for a girl b/c this is my middle name and my mothers middle name. This is also my grandmothers first name. I love keeping a family name. So we have just under 9 weeks till we find out if we are having a little Logan or Bella. As long as its a healthy baby, that's all that matters.
On another note, Scotts 28th birthday was on June 24. We didn't do much of anything. I had a training class all day but got out a little bit early. I headed home and we went to the gym. That was a tough day at the gym b/c it was in the 90's that day. After that, we went to pick up his nephew Drake at Scott's mothers house. We had some errands to run before we got dinner. We ran to feeders supply to get Lexie & Daisy food and some Apple Bitter so the chewing on furniture will stop. We finally got to BW3's for dinner and by this time I was starving. I am to the point where if I don't eat every hour, I feel as if I am going to die. After I stuffed myself with 8 boneless wings and onion rings, we headed to softball. Scott played at 9:30 so I knew this would be a long night. The game finally ended and Scott's team lost by 1 run. I was so mad!!!! By the time we got home, I was ready to crash. 11 o'clock is now my bedtime. I felt bad with it being Scott's birthday but I am growing his child in my belly.
That's pretty much it for now. I will make sure to take another picture at 11 weeks on Tuesday.

9 Weeks

Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

I am finally starting to feel much better... I haven't had any morning sickness and the nausea is started to fade away... My "girls" are still very sore and I am having some mild cramping... I was worried about the cramping but found out that its just my uterus growing. I love waking up in the morning and seeing how my body is changing. We are almost to our 2nd trimester and I will finally be able to relax. I worry about every little thing that my body does, it consumes most of my day. We go back to the doctor on Tuesday to hear the heartbeat. We are so excited! This will be the best birthday gift for Scott, being that his birthday is Wednesday. I am trying to remember to take pictures every week but my memory is not so good these days. Well, that's it for now...

2 Months!

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

I am still feeling very sleepy and nauseous. My dreams are becoming so clear now. I wake up in the morning and can remember every detail. I am having a hard time sleeping for a long period of time. Between the waking up every 2 hours to use the restroom and my hips hurting. We go back to the doctor in 2 weeks to hear the heartbeat... We can't wait!
